12 injured and dozens more trapped after Spanish tourist bar collapses

A total of 12 people have been taken to hospital after both the floor and ceiling collapsed at a bar in Spain.

Up to 50 people were at Bar Tempranillo in the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra,La Rioja,when the building suddenly gave way.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.25am this morning,where they pulled patrons from the rubble.

The Guardia Civil confirmed six people had been transferred to the San Pedro hospital in Logroño,some 35 kilometres away,for treatment for a variety of injuries.

Another two survivors were taken to the Haro health centre.
